Hello, and welcome to my Resume Writing Hub Page. As I mention on my home page, my name is Eric Weir and I spend most of my time at my “day job” coaching people on how to write their resumes better. There’s no doubt about it - the resume is a crucial job search tool worthy of your time and trouble - boring, but crucial. (Joke! :-)) Well, I'm actually only half-joking ... Most resumes are boring. But I'm interested in helping you to make your resume great through teaching you how to write resumes. Question: What’s the definition of a great resume? Answer: One that gets you lots of great interviews! One that employers love to receive and love to read and that inspires them to pick up the phone and call you in for an interview now! The purpose of your resume is to win yourself an interview. So therefore every resume that you write or “customize” must be a winner! We have to go into our resume writing office or “den” knowing that we’re going to win, and then take the time to clearly state the reasons why in a powerful, clear and straightforward way throughout our resume. Your resume has to stand out as a result of your extra effort, your creativity and your all-pervading message expressed throughout it: “I’m the one!”
